Civil Engineering

Environmental Engineering

Those preparing for the Environmental PE exam will take selected topics from the review course and workshops offered for Civil Engineering. This will help prepare, but not provide a complete preparation, for the exam in this areas. Fee: $595.

FE/EIT Review Course and Workshops

This review course and workshops prepares for the Fundamentals of Engineering (formerly EIT) examination, required for registration as a Professional Engineer. Selected topics from the following will be covered:

An 8-hour mock FE Exam will be given as a take-home exam. Fee: $995.

Reference Books

The teaching is done from the notes supplied to the class. One reference book is given at no charge for the PE review course with workshops for Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering.

Course Coordinator

Dr. Haku Israni, PE in the course coordinator. He has taught the EIT/PE courses at various companies including Central and Southwest Services, Bechtel, Kellogg, Fluor, Sirrine, Lummus, Ericsson, Texas Instruments, Foster Wheeler Energy Corp., Texas Department of Transportation, Utility Engineering, and the City of Austin Electric Utility Department. Dr. Israni has taught these courses over 150 times and to over 12,000 engineers. He was a Department Head for 8 years and a Dean for 10 years at three different universities in Texas. Guarantee of Passing

If you attend every class and workshop and don't pass, you can repeat the next course and workshops absolutely free. To get the guarantee, you must take the next actual examination given after the completion of the course. For the Principles and Practice examinations only, the actual examination must be taken within nine months after completion of the course. The free repeat is limited to only one time, and it must be used in the next course offered after the results of the examination have come in. Subsequent repeats within 12 months will be at 50% of the regular fee. No course is guaranteed to be offered every time the actual examination is given. There are no workshops for chemical, environmental, and structural engineering and no guarantee of passing applies. The free course is not transferable.

Examination Information

The next PE exam is on October 29, 2010 and the next FE exam is on October 30,2010. Contact your state PE Board for the exam registration deadline.

Recent Changes in PE Examination

The Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical/Computer Engineering PE Examinations are in breadth and depth format. All examinees work the breadth (AM) and one of the depth (PM) exam. The breadth exam contains questions from all areas of each exam. The depth exams focus more closely on a single area of engineering.
