Sugarland Student Achieves Perfect Score on the SAT
SUGARLAND, Texas—Test Masters student Riju Agrawal achieved a perfect score on the SAT taken on November 7th 2007, an accomplishment that includes less than 1% of SAT test takers each year. Agrawal currently attends William B. Travis High School in Fort Bend, Texas, a new school that opened its doors for the 2006-2007 school year. Prior to being a student at William B. Travis High School, he attended Stephen F. Austin High School in Fort Bend.
Agrawal felt that adequate preparation for taking the test would increase his chances of a high score on the SAT, so he enrolled in a TestMasters SAT preparation course located in SugarLand, Texas, based on the recommendation of several friends. "Prior to Test Masters, I was scoring approximately 2200-2250 on self-administered practice tests. Test Masters had the right preparation program to push me that extra mile so that I could hit 2400. The TestMasters SAT preparation course is the only one that I have taken."
When asked to give advice to other students who will be taking the SAT, Agrawal remarked, "I think the SAT is less about how much you know and more about how you take the test. TestMasters didn't make me a smarter person; it just made me a better test taker. Students should learn to pace themselves. They should take several practice tests so that they are familiar with the format. Students should also know how to utilize time effectively for things like writing an essay quickly and reading passages quickly."
As a reward for his perfect score on the SAT exam, Agrawal will receive a $1000 scholarship from Test Masters which will help him with college expenses. Agrawal plans to apply at several universities including MIT, Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Rice, Cornell, and UT Austin to study Engineering or Computer Science.
