What Is Covered On The SAT Subject Test In Biology?

The SAT Subject Test In Biology covers the biology topics taught in a typical high school biology course, with particular emphasis on ecology or molecular biology. The student can choose to take Biology-E to focus on ecology, or Biology-M to focus on molecular biology. According to ETS, the topics covered on either test are as follows:

How Do I Choose between Biology-E (Ecological) and Biology-M (Molecular)?

The two tests cover the same topics but differ in emphasis. Per ETS, a student should take Biology E if you feel more comfortable answering questions pertaining to biological communities, populations and energy flow. Likewise, take Biology M if you feel more comfortable answering questions pertaining to biochemistry, cellular structure and processes, such as respiration and photosynthesis. You cannot take both tests on the same test date, but you can take them on two different test dates.
