Testmasters Launches GRE Blog
Targets Online GRE Students and Other Prospective Graduate Students
For some, graduate school is another step in the ceaseless pursuit of knowledge; for others, it’s a calculated maneuver meant to improve career prospects. Regardless of why people go to graduate school or what they plan to study, all graduate school hopefuls take a common path -- the admissions process. A critical step in that process is taking the Graduate Record Examination (GRE).
Testmasters’ online GRE courses have risen in popularity since they were introduced in 2003. In response to the flourishing online community, Testmasters recently launched a GRE blog called “It’s Not GREek!” to provide additional resources for online students and to help prospective graduate students decipher the confusing admission process. The new blog is a mash-up of advice and tips for the GRE; information on graduate school applications; and discussions about career options. The blog offers a single location for students and graduate school hopefuls can participate in relevant dialogue about all things graduate school.
"It’s Not GREek!" also provides information about the changes the Educational Testing Service (ETS) will make to the GRE in August 2011. Frequently asked questions and a chart outlining the changes in detail currently can be found on the blog.
In addition to reaching out to online GRE students, Testmasters hopes to augment the traditional classroom GRE course experience. "Testmasters is always looking for new ways to reach out to students beyond the classroom," Testmasters employee Jason Chu said. "Our goal is to use blogging and other forms of social media to improve interaction with our students and provide them with other kinds of support."
