Test Masters Student Scores Perfect on SAT Exam
Test Masters Student Achieves SAT Perfection with Fully-Focused Studying and the Implementation of Proven Test Strategies
HOUSTON, TX, April 10, 2009 – Houston area high school student Tim Lin became one of the most recent students to earn a perfect score on the SAT. Lin, a consistent and long-time Test Masters student, achieved a feat accomplished by less than 1% of students that take the SAT.
Advice for Others
When asked if he had any advice for other students that are planning to take the SAT, Lin explained explicitly how to deal with the separation of two remaining answers. “After you’ve eliminated all of the outlandish answer choices, always go with your gut feeling. Second-guessing yourself only wastes valuable time. Plus, it’s called intuition for a reason.”
Lin also encouraged an approach meant to greatly decrease the pressure of the test. "Most of all, don’t stress out about the SAT. It may be important, but it is far from the ‘be-all end-all’ in college admissions,” said Lin. “If you’ve done your best to prepare for it, you should have no regrets afterwards, regardless of the outcome.”
Additionally, Lin had very positive comments regarding the effectiveness of Test Masters programs. “With its plethora of actual previous SAT tests with which to practice, Exam Club helped me by providing me with materials that would have been difficult or expensive to obtain otherwise,” Lin said. “The Writing Section workshops were helpful, especially when dealing with the essay portion.”
Looking Toward the Future
Lin currently attends the St. John’s School in the River Oaks neighborhood of Houston. Lin has attended St. John’s for his entire high school career and plans to graduate from the school as well. His top school choices include Harvard, Princeton, Yale, or Stanford, and he plans to study either business/economics or biomedical sciences, which will prepare him to fulfill his dream of becoming a doctor. For his successful efforts on the SAT, Test Masters will award him with a $1000 scholarship.
