HOUSTON, TX (December 29, 2019) Despite his busy high school schedule, Abel John was determined to do his absolute best on the SAT. Only a fraction of 1 percent of students who take the SAT scored a perfect 1600 and Abel has joined that exclusive fraction. He credits the teachers who he calls “masters of their craft” for being able to explain the materials in a funny, interesting, and engaging way with a variety of strategies.

“The exam club system was very good. Not only was the material similar to actual SAT questions, it also came with explanations for each question and its correct answer. I also really liked the essay study materials.”

He adds that the Exam Club was the practice that helped him reach perfection. He says “Exam club at TestMasters provided good practice tests. Since I was busy on the weekdays and even many weekends with school work and extracurriculars, I tried to do exam club practice tests on all available weekends especially closer to the test date. This definitely helped with actual prep material as well as practicing focus and concentration. Whether it be through the reading strategies and analysis help they provided, or the exam club that gave me the chance to practice weekly, I was able to reach the proverbial peak of examination success.”

John was born and raised in Houston and is a very busy student. On top of being a member of National Honor Society and Science National Honor Society, he is the Founder President of Clement High School’s Junior State of America which is dedicated to understanding politics and government. He is president of the Sugar Land Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council which is an activity at a larger community level, being multi-school and local government in nature. If that wasn’t enough, he has been a scout since elementary school and is currently awaiting eagle scout approval!

He offers this last bit of advice for students preparing to take the SAT, “Practice makes perfect. If you go to the exam club on a consistent basis, internalize and correct mistakes, and essentially go the extra mile, you will score high on the test. Remember, this is a test you are supposed to prepare for.“

In recognition of his achievement, TestMasters will award Wang a $1000 Perfect Score Scholarship. Click here to watch Abel’s interview.
