Iowa State's College of Engineering produces engineers in civil, mechanical, electrical, chemical, aerospace, agricultural, and other disciplines, and for many of them the Fundamentals of Engineering exam comes during senior year or soon after graduation. The FE is a computer-based NCEES exam taken by discipline, and it is the first step toward a PE license.
