Chapel Hill families have strong independent school options nearby, including Durham Academy and Carolina Friends School, and applications for grade 5 or 6 often include the ISEE Lower Level. For a fourth or fifth grader, it is usually the first timed test with real consequences. Test Masters prepares younger students from Chapel Hill, Carrboro, and Hillsborough live online, with patient, age-appropriate lessons in verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, reading comprehension, math achievement, and the essay. Practice begins with short timed sections and builds toward a full-length test, so children learn pacing without feeling overwhelmed. Private 1-on-1 tutoring is a good fit for young students who do well with individual attention. With the right preparation, a ten-year-old can be the master of the test.
