Portland families seeking a place in fifth or sixth grade at an independent school take the ISEE Lower Level, a test written for children who are still in fourth or fifth grade. For a ten-year-old, a timed test with verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, reading comprehension, mathematics achievement, and an essay is a new experience. Test Masters prepares young students from Portland, Lake Oswego, and Beaverton live online in short, focused sessions, building vocabulary, word problem skills, and the confidence to skip a hard question and come back to it. Parents see progress after each practice test, and private 1-on-1 tutoring suits children who do well at their own pace. With patient preparation, even a young student can become the master of this test.
