San Juan families applying to independent schools for fifth or sixth grade, on the island or at schools on the mainland, often find that the ISEE Lower Level is part of admission. The test is written for fourth and fifth graders, and it is given in English, which adds a layer of challenge for children who learn in two languages. Test Masters prepares these young students live online in short, encouraging sessions on vocabulary, reading comprehension, word problems, and math fundamentals, plus practice writing the short essay in English. Parents receive progress reports, and private 1-on-1 tutoring is available for a child who needs more time. With patient preparation, a young bilingual student can master this test.
