Families in Portsmouth, Chesapeake, and Suffolk who apply to independent schools for grade 5 or 6 meet the ISEE Lower Level, usually while their child is in fourth or fifth grade. It is the first standardized admission test most of these children have seen, with verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, reading comprehension, mathematics achievement, and a short essay. Test Masters teaches the Lower Level live online at a pace that fits a ten-year-old: short lessons, plenty of practice, and patient instruction on handling questions a child has not seen in class. Private 1-on-1 tutoring suits children who do better with one teacher, and it moves easily with military families. A young student who prepares with us arrives as the master of the test, not its worried guest.
