The High School Placement Test asks 298 questions in about two and a half hours, which means roughly half a minute per question. The course is organized around that arithmetic: content first, then the pacing that lets a student use it.
| Section | Questions | Time |
|---|---|---|
| Verbal Skills | 60 | 16 minutes |
| Quantitative Skills | 52 | 30 minutes |
| Reading (comprehension and vocabulary) | 62 | 25 minutes |
| Mathematics | 64 | 45 minutes |
| Language | 60 | 25 minutes |
No calculator is permitted and there is no penalty for a wrong answer, so leaving a bubble empty is simply giving away a point. That single habit is worth several questions on its own.
Twelve meetings: four math classes of three hours, four verbal classes of three hours, and four full-length HSPT exams taken under test conditions.
Each student receives the Test Masters HSPT manual, and every lesson is taught from its 200-plus pages; two extra full-length exams are bound into the back. We practice on official HSPT material so in-class scores mean something, and each exam comes back as a machine-scored breakdown by question type that tells you precisely where the next hour of study belongs.
